Our very own team member, Amey, has become an aspiring actress. We are very proud of her. She's had several small roles in several popular television shows, such as American Odyssey, Black List, Daredevil, Nurse Jackie, Orange is the New Black and other more. She's even had a part in the feature film, Ted 2. Who knows? Someday she might become a big star. Let's hope so. We can say we knew her when she was just a background actress. If you don't know her, then trust me when I say shes pretty cool. Please, go to her page on Facebook and show your support by liking it. Thanks!
Amey Goetz on Facebook. I now have an official release date for my upcoming book, "Ghosts and Legends of Yonkers." It will become available to the public on August 31, 2015. While this is later than I anticipated, I am glad it will be released before Halloween. Incidentally, I will have my third novel published before this date. My book "A Ghost In New Orleans" should be ready by the end of July, although I have not been given an official date, at this time. This fictional novel was partially inspired by our paranormal investigations in the French Quarter of New Orleans over the past few years.
Martins Monitoring Do you feel secure enough at home or at work? Well, I have great news! Our very own Technical Crew Chief now has another hobby/job to keep him busy at Martins Monitoring, where he installs security cameras. Check out the website!
By the early part of 2015 I was nearly done writing my book. I returned to New Orleans and headed to the Jimani to find Jonathan. I wanted to tell him all about the book and how I used him as a character in the book. Unfortunately, it was at this time when I learned of his tragic suicide.
I can never know what drove him to his untimely end. I can only pay tribute to him in my own way as thanks for being kind and helpful to my wife and I. He was a true gentleman with a nice personality. I am sorry he will never get to know my tribute to him, but then again... maybe he does know. If any of his family members or friends ever read this, I'd like to extend my deepest condolences to you. I am truly sorry for your loss, for it is my loss, as well. May the memory of Jonathan live on forever in my book, so that all will know the great person we've lost. Rest in peace, buddy. As we greet the new year, we start out fresh. We've had to say our farewells to a few members in 2014, but we also gained a couple of new members in the process. This year I will be adding at least two more team members, who have already been spoken to about it. I will meet with both first to make sure there is a mutual agreement between us. Everyone on the team will have their fair share of investigations in the year to come. I don't want anyone getting neglected or forgotten. If someone is too busy, that is fine, but if they are too busy all of the time, then it must be addressed.
We greatly appreciate how many people write and ask to join our team. It happens so much, but it is best for us to keep a small tight unit. If there are too many team members, not everyone will get the chance to go on investigations. It will be a lot harder to accommodate each member. With a smaller team, there is more time to focus on each member. We apologize to those of you that are turned down and we hope you can understand our reasoning. Also, we try not to add people none of us know on a personal level. It is important to know and trust the person you work with, especially while doing things that might require going the extra mile. If you don't know what I mean by that, it is for the best. Don't miss the Sherwood House's annual Candlelight Tour on Sunday, December 7, 2014. It's a free event for the whole family. Aside from a free tour of the oldest farmhouse in Yonkers, there will be Christmas carols sung by the Yonkers Male Glee Club, a X-Mas gift shop, food and beverages, and a chance to make new friends. Some of our team will be there, as well.
Yonkers is a very old city and being an old city makes it an ideal location for old haunted locations, although not all haunted locations need be old. All it takes is for one wayward spirit to hold on to his or her past life strong enough to cause a haunting.
In this book are a few local legends and a list of several locations within Yonkers that are either rumored to be haunted or have been proven to be haunted. Rather than be skeptical, check out the evidence and see for yourself. Who knows? Maybe you will become a believer. Expect this project to be published by The History Press and ready by Spring of 2015.
