In one room there is a secret drawer, where a large stash of her letters can be found. Somewhere hidden away is also a special treasure. Some of the letters act as clues to the hidden locations, while others will lead you in a false direction in search of gifts that are long gone. Throughout the years people who have found the secret drawer have formed an elite secret society called the Secret Drawer Society, or SDS.
As of October 26, 2011 both Jason & Jo-Ann became members of the SDS. Are you a member? Do you have any strange experiences from the inn or with Jerusha that you'd like to share?
I have taken the liberty of expanding the SDS to Hanover, which is right outside of a certain little town by the name of Gettysburg. It is only a short 15-20 minute drive for anyone staying at the Beechmont Bed & Breakfast Inn. It is a great little place with a fantastic inn keeper named, Kathryn White. I highly recommend staying there. Just ask for the Morning View suite. Once there you will be able to search for the secret drawer to find our letter. If you know what the drawer looks like at Longfellow's Wayside Inn, then you should have no trouble finding the secret drawer at the Beechmont. By the way, it is also haunted. There was an EVP captured in the Mangolia suite on the first floor. The attic and basement are also nice and creepy. It doesn't hurt that it is right next door to a funeral home.
UPDATE: On August 26, 2014 Rich & his girlfriend, Kelly, became members of the SDS, after being taken to the inn by Jason & Jo-Ann. During this trip a letter from April 25, 1976 was discovered making it the oldest existing letter known to us. It was also learned that the SDS began in 1928 & exists within most of the inn's guest rooms. Letters have been collected & placed in a storage bin of the guests sitting room on the second floor.
