Kevin Phelan of The Journal News did an article about haunted locations in the Historic Lower Hudson River Valley. In this article he spoke to paranormal experts, such as author Linda Zimmermann, for an opinion on what places are most haunted, In that same article he also spoke to ME and mentioned the Yonkers Ghost Investigators! I gave him Untermyer Park, as the most haunted location in Yonkers. That is based on our investigations and evidence.
This is an excerpt from his article, where we are mentioned: Ghosts of Yonkers Founder and team leader of Yonkers Ghost Investigators, Jason Medina says Untermyer Park has a macabre history and is a great spot for paranormal enthusiasts: "One place in Yonkers where we've gotten a decent amount of paranormal activity is Untermyer Park on North Broadway. We've gone there during the daytime and have gotten EVPs (electronic voice phenomenons — unexplained voices caught on tape), along with an image that appears to have an unexplained shadow figure. At night we've also recorded EVPs, especially at an old abandoned gatehouse located near the old carriage trail leading down to Warburton Avenue. It is said the notorious Son of Sam belonged to a cult that operated in this park during the late 1960s, until the late 1970s. Supposedly, they also sacrificed dogs here." Recently I did an interview with Dina Sciortino, Editor-in-Chief of WestchesterWoman.org. She wanted to discuss my new book, Ghosts and Legends of Yonkers, as well as Yonkers Ghost Investigators. By the time we were done she decided to split our discussion into two separate stories. This is the first, which is about our team. It was a pleasure speaking with Dina and she did a fine job with the interview. Thanks for doing a great job, Dina!
