Jason the team leader and Jo-Ann the senior paranormal investigator were engaged on this day, after a three year relationship. The two originally met in high school and went their separate ways when they graduated. They were able to find each other and reconnect thanks to Facebook. No news as to when the wedding will be. Maybe in another three years???
News Update: The wedding date is set for next year. Who says one can't find romance, while ghost hunting? Okay, I am not sure if we will ever have need of a demonologist, but it certainly cannot hurt to have one in the group in case we should ever need one. Why wait until someone becomes possessed by a demon to look for one? Since I do not go to church the chances of finding one there is pretty damn slim. So, if you feel you are qualified for the position and wouldn't mind helping the team out when your skills are needed, then please contact us. Thank you.
Psych Center Demo Moved Out to July Move will not change completion date.
According to Regional Parks Director Ron Foley, the company designated to complete the demo, will be ready to start in July. “Part of the thinking was that this was when school will be out and also, this works for the contractor’s own schedule,” said Foley. The work, which was originally scheduled to begin mid-May, will be done by National Salvage and Service Corp., which was awarded a $6.4 million contract for the demolition of 15 abandoned buildings on the former Kings Park Psychiatric Hospital property. According to Foley, the project is expected to meet its original completion date of Nov. 2013. NEWS UPDATE: The demolitions have already taken place and are now over as of the summer 2013. They began on schedule on July 10, 2012 and lasted almost a year exactly. Many buildings and structures were removed, such as Buildings 3, 6, 23, 35, 36, 46, 48, 55, 56, 57, 59, 60, 82, 122, 123, the sand pyramid/salt shed, the barge, the smokestack for 29, the remains of the railroad trestle, the power plant coal shed and fuel tanks, and some of the roads leading to those locations. I have decided to work on my fictional novels since I will be delaying my "KPPC: A Journey Through History" project. I currently have ideas for over 50 novels. Two are already written, but they require a little bit of touching up for accuracy. I have a few more that I've already started.
The novels will be a variety of horror, suspense, psychological thrillers, science fiction, action, adventure, drama, and even romance. I refuse to stick to any one genre. I have too many stories to tell and they are all different. I have never had writer's block in my life. Writing tends to come quite easily for me, so the books will be done as fast as I have time to write them, but I do not plan to rush them. The utmost care will be put into each one along with thorough research and characterizations. I will soon make a new website to promote these books, but I plan to wait until the first one is practically done. I will also be in search for a publisher that is not afraid to publish some pretty sick stories. Hey, my mind goes astray sometimes. What can I say? Trust me, it makes for a damn good story. My very first novel will be called "A Forgotten Man in a Forgotten Land" and it will tell the tale of a man, who awakens with amnesia at the abandoned Kings Park Psychiatric Center. During his trek across the grounds and through the buildings he will slowly regain his memory. These memories will consist of his one true love, his time in the Vietnam War, and the realization that he was a mental patient at the KPPC. In this story I also plan to touch upon the Long Island urban legend of the killer known as Mary Hatchet. There will even be a side story, which will tell her story as a patient at Kings Park. ATTENTION - Due to the upcoming demolition project that will eliminate approximately 14 structures at the KPPC, I have decided to hold off on getting my book published because I'd like to photograph the demolitions and use that in my book. However, I have instead decided to go ahead and work on my fictional novels instead starting with "A Forgotten Man in a Forgotten Land," which takes place at the abandoned KPPC. I promise you will not be disappointed.
As of January 7, 2012 we now have an official post office box. All mailings should be sent to our post office box addressed to the team. Please, do not send any personal letters to any of us. Chances are most correspondence will be read by the team leader. Any envelopes should be addressed as follows:
Yonkers Ghost Investigators P.O. Box 432 Yonkers, NY 10703-1414 You can also just send a message via the website, which is a lot easier. NOTE: As of December 20, 2013 the post office box number was changed from 650 to 432. The change has been made above. Attention to all members and potential customers... due to the fact that it is getting cold as shit outside, ghost hunting and paranormal investigations will be slowing down drastically until Spring. I have one more trip to Kings Park planned for 2011 and a trip to the Shanley Hotel for early 2012. There might be another investigation at Untermyer Park this month. Aside from that there will probably be no other missions until Spring of 2012.
We are currently NOT seeking new members, as our team is full enough, although we are looking to add someone with strong sensitivity or psychic abilities as a medium. We appreciate the interest for those of you, who wish to join, but regretfully must deny any requests to join the team, at this time. We'd like to apologize and like to emphasize that it is nothing personal. We just want to keep it down to a small number to give everyone a chance to participate. Too many members means taking turns too much. Sorry.
I've ordered new business cards with this website listed on it. They are almost identical to the first set of cards I ordered, but this time only my name and number appear on the front. I will make another batch with our new post office box once I actually get one in January. I will give those out by the dozens. In the meantime I only have 250 of these new ones. Disregard the old ones if you have one. The websites are all wrong.
